Double Blog: Hotel Architecture Blows My Mind/Do People Actually Check Out Of Hotels?
The Aria is the most beautiful structure ever built in the history of the world. Everything about it amazes me. Is there a documentary that talks about how things like the Aria are built? The architecture and engineering that goes into it must be insane. Every last detail has to be perfect. It absolutely astonishes me that like…someone, or people, are smart enough to know exactly how to build such a massive, beautiful structure where everything works perfectly. There’s so many conditions and obstacles you need to worry about in Vegas- the sun, the temperature, getting enough water in the air, the electricity, it all just…it all just blows my mind how it all comes together. Where does all this water come from?! Is the AC bill $10 trillion dollars a year? Again, my simple mind can’t process it.
And now for the 2nd half of the blog, here’s something that’s been bugging me for a while- do people actually go through the check out of the hotel process? I thought the move was just to leave. They know you’re leaving, you know you’re leaving, do you really have to bring pen and paper into this equation? Do you really have to stand in line and return your room key? Shit, even if they have that box to drop it in, do you even do that? I thought most people simply just…left. You leave when it’s time to leave, no? Munchtown Bob asked me pretty much every day for the last 5 days if he had to checkout or if he can just go. I said I think it’s ok to just go. I feel old people still do the old fashioned check out, but young bucks simply dip.
And don’t forget to leave a few bucks for the maids. I don’t know why it’s not more standard to tip the housekeepers at the hotel, but it should 1000% be standard. I did this long blog about who we tip and don’t tip, and hotel housekeepers are my strong #1 of needing to be tipped more often. Bathroom attendants, dead last place. Fuck outta here.
Double blog basically became a triple blog. Damn. People’s champ does it again.
